Q8, Sportizone & The Rubbish Project Team up for the Antwerp Marathon

We worked with Q8 and Sportizon, the sponsor and organisers of the Antwerp Matathon, to create a positive environmental story around their cups. We supplied them with rPET cups, provided by Huhtamaki, as well as a branded chair 3D printed from recycled plastic. We will be working to create more furniture using the rubbish collected from the event.

The organisers and sponsors of the Antwerp marathon were very keen to minimise the environmental impact of the event and create an inspiring story to communicate the potential for a circular future. The Rubbish Project has arranged for the recycling and reprocessing of the waste, to give it new life.

The Rubbish Project, in collaboration with Colossus, 3D printed a branded chair for the marathon, entirely made from rubbish. The overall goal is to use the cup waste generated from the event to create more furniture using the Colossus 3D printer. This video (above) shows one of the latest chair designs by The Rubbish Project. Products such as these will soon be available for businesses and consumers on The Rubbish Shop.
